2017 Cabernet Sauvignon

Wildwood Oak Winery 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon, Lodi, CA – Joshua’s Landing

This is a full-bodied California style Cabernet Sauvignon with classic taste black fruit with a hint of vanilla. On the nose you get dusty, spicy black fruit. The palate confirms the black fruit of cassis, blackberry, blueberry and hint of vanilla and cocoa and a long intense finish.

Awards: Bronze: Beverage Testing Institute International Competition

What’s in a name? In 2017, our grandson, Joshua James (JJ), was born so we wanted to have a wine to commemorate the year he was born. We added the term “landing” to tie into the theme of our journey. We affectionately call this “Big Boy” because JJ is such a big boy and the wine is really a big boy! We plan to save some bottles and open them when JJ turns 21.

Ruby color. Aromas of stewed black fruit, blackberry vinaigrette, roasted cashew, brown banana, and war head candy with chewy, bright, dry-yet-fruity medium-full body and a hot, medium-length liqueur-filled chocolates and apple compote finish with moderate oak flavor. A rich and sturdy red with a bold personality.
